I've seen a variety of serverside bsp mods, nothing major, just changing a texture or two. But at work today i thought of something, If a bsp can be changed and remain serverside as long as the size doesnt change, is there anything stopping some one from going in... targetnaming say... a door, and scripting it out? I'm just not positive it would show to the clients.
Has this been explored? Anyhow, even if i wanted to develop this further i can't, Mbuilder never works for me lol.
If something could be targetnamed yes - script would remove it - then again - the clients BSP`s "door" wouldnt be targetnamed so you couldnt remove theirs.
What your asking means a custom BSP - they would all need it to see it.
if u removed a door or wall in bsp, without using remove targetname. Then, probably, the user might see the map with floating parts, or, they might see the wall, but will be able to walk through it. I dont think mohaa does md5 checking :, So things might just look v.messed up.
i would say. nah, cud experiment., I agree with cobra tho
I tried removing the cars from obj_team4 once and replacing them with tanks, looked ok clientside so i upped that pk3 to the server, but when i joined the server the tanks and the cars were there so it definately needs to be a custom BSP that everyone will need.
