red looks good for member names and titles . try #EBEBEB . viper's onto something though it's usually the forum/thread icon that changes to denote a new post in an already read thread .

THE RED:
THe story. Basicaly, i had 10 mins before i had to go teach some boxing. SO as i was near a pc, i logged ina nd thought id use the 10 mins to alter MRU to suit what BD said in his post on site issue. He said, the links should be a different colour so they are visible easier (in forums, i assume). Anyway, i changed the colour of <a> (links) and saved it red to test and then ran out of time, to set it back, im now back, home, 3:30am.
Basicaly, i think a whole new skin is needed but as u see i only had 10 minutes!
If people want to suggest colours thats fine.
colour for links: ? (trying EBEBEB )

colour for unread posts: ? (trying FF0000 (red) )

BTW -
this image has all the banners that I see - you will notice one of them (the bottom) often appears as missing - either that or the script is up one too many in count.

i disagree elgan . i love this css theme . a few simple font color changes and you'd have something new if that's what's wanted . boxing you say ? i've thought of taking that up for something to do to stay healthy and improve my hand/eye coordination . my only fear is being from philly i'm afraid everyone would call me 'rocky' if they found out . either that or 'glass jaw clam eater ' . btw, the white looks a lot better .

Actually it is bright but the added bit of color to an other wise colorless skin is refeshing .

i like the idea of colour but being colour blind and almost blind to the state i can never drive doesnt help.
The white is nice but does it distinguish enough as links from the other text?

i don't think the red does this site's theme well personally however it's not something that would make me stop visiting the forums . on another note though, forum's stickies could be widdled down some , if there are more than one new posts in a forum it becomes a task figuring out where they are...granted the red text now makes it easier however the constant scrolling down is a pain .
