Title: Site Issues
Post by: Cobra {sfx} on April 17, 2008, 03:25:18 PM
Hi all,

we have recently had some issues with the site which were causing problems with peoples browsers (not all), where when you clicked refresh it didnt function correctly, we seem to have fixed the problem now - can people give us information here of what happened with your browser and any messages that appeared please.

I know some browsers considered it to be malicious but i use firefox and havent had any issues at all, nor have we any reports of anyone receiving a virus or other malware.

   Cheers

   Cobra

but as far i can see right now, it will work again perfectly.....

working with IE7, hopefull that this condition will stay!

I have no problems with either browser. IE7 or FF. Cobs you still with hostingplex. I am dumping them as soon as my domain expires as their support has became pure crap lol.

@ cobra.....

you remember last time, i ask you about "strange things" on mru..... this IP salombo shows here is equal that one, i get.... but in my case a antivirusscanner should be installed..... anyhow.. my IE7 crashed... maybe my good old norton works fine....

after forcedown IE in taskmanager - the only way, it works - mru-page is blocked on my computer...... as long, as i make a reboot

but, this trouble only happens, if i jump direct on mru-mainpage....... if i use directlink to forum... nothing unusual happen......

if i try to change from forum to mainpage...... mru-mainpage is unavailable, and will be unavailable as long i reboot. anyway..... after that, forum is also unavailable....... reboot help!...

this creepy thing start 2 weeks ago... maybe 3

screenshots are not available on my side.... i didnt trust your mainpage and avoid this since........

That is probably a fake scanner - look at the bottom where it says install our software - make sure you DONT click that.

Strange this as its not affecting everyone, ive tried IE and FF and dont see anything.

Elgs looking into the matter, stay tuned.

Yeah, I've had this twice today, when entering this site. Perhaps someone did this on purpose. I scanned my pc with ad-aware but it froze so I don't know if this is on my PC or the site for sure.

yeh mainpage is a problem with IE. I have IE at work and its really a pain in the ass, when the antivirus detects trojans or something.

No not just IE, I used FireFox 3 Beta to enter the site and I just had one of those like 30 seconds ago.

Yea FF3 has the issue too.

   BTW.

DO not install ANYTHING related to the re-direct site

   Odds are its a virus!

It will scan(it says) your computer then ask you to install a exe...LOL

If you do your NEW homepage will be the "Blue Oyster Bar"...:D
Title: Site Issues
Post by: Soldier Of Ra on August 01, 2008, 01:34:13 PM
Lol, but I think a general advice is never ever download or accept anything in a pop up, and screen redirecting to a free scan site/other crap, a so called windows pop up...Close them immediately before they start scanning or putting a trojan on your PC etc...After that scan your PC, you never know!

When you can't get rid of a spyware, there are a lot of useful tips and programs(ppl make to get rid of that 1 piece of spyware) But also be skeptical about these cause some funny guys like to add a so called fix which is actually a spyware as well.

Just accept nothing internet pops at you unless you clicked on it and it gives you the thing you want without having anything suspicious.

I don't know why people make this crap. Maybe because they're mostly teenagers with no life, thinking about showing their cool and being smart by ruining thousands of people's computers. Then they get caught and their parents pay up all the damage for the rest of their lives.
