virus is a mod of survivor. When you die, instead of being put in spec like Objective. You

   are allowed to play on as a virus. No longer able to win.

   

   In Free For All mode.

   The last person to not be infected with the virus wins!

   

   In TDM.

   The last team alive ie, not infected with the virus wins!

   

   Each player is allocated a set amount of lives. once they run out, he is forced to spectate. Just

   the same as objective. This time, unlike objective. There is more than once chance!

   

   Why play objective team, when you get more chances to eliminate a team in virus?

   

   There is respawning, so you can still play on when your infected!

   

   

   

   To use:

   

   place the pk3 inside your main folder.

   

   Then from each map you want the game type to run. Place an exec line.

   

   or from ambient or dmprecache.scr

   

   exec virus/main.scr

   

   

   

   Thats it!

   

   

   CVARS!

   

   virus // 1=  On, (default, or 0 = off

   

   virus_lives // Default 3. This is how many lives each player has

   

   virus_warmup // Default 30. In seconds, this is how many seconds the warm up lasts for.

I'm running this today to test it on one of our servers.  66.55.149.112 - in case anyone in the States or Canada wants to check it out.

   I have it "living" with some of our map mods.  Some of those have additional weapons scattered around them.  Stalingrad and Algiers, I believe.

Question for those of you who know more than I do.  On this gametype, you can set the time for the round length, but it won't change maps.  If it's in TDM, is the only way to switch maps based on number of kills?  Is there a way to force the maps to rotate to the next one after a certain number of rounds?  Fraglimit is different in tdm than in obj.  Technically this is still tdm.

hm, i dont really understand . whats the question sorry?

   

   i dont remember how it works, it just uses timelimit and fraglimits and roundlimits depdning on your gametype

How do you know who wins? It seems those who are out can still get kills.

yes, its the last one or team alive, If your killed and turned into a virus enough times, ur out! but can still play to stop the others.
