Title: Problem with the servers list
Post by: muerteroja on September 17, 2008, 02:58:42 PM
Hi. Yesterday I saw there was a problem with the servers list. I open the game, go to multiplayer - online servers list... but there aren't servers... found 0. The same problem with GameSpy. But it isn't  problem of my connection, game, etc. It happens for everybody. Do you know anything about it? What's the problem? Virus? Hacker?... Thanks.

Yup, the masterserver is down. You can still join games if you know the IP, but the rcon commands don't seem to work anymore either...

Ive emailled Mark Edwards @ EA concerning this, no reply as yet

Update - heres the email i sent to Mark ...

Hello Mark, we have noticed your master server for MohAA is down - affecting the ingame server browser of every Moh player (0 servers located),can you give us some information on this, we are worried the game has no support anymore? For the Moh Community Cobra {sfx} www.Mods-R-us.net

Mark forwarded the query to Mark Dochtermann ....

Hi Mark-   Rob Williams, one of our primary community modders, has brought it to my attention that the master server for Allied Assault is down. Might yoube able to provide some incite into this?   Just to keep everything in scope, the MOH 10th Anniversary Bundle is setto hit shelves on the 22nd of this month. At that time, there willhopefully be an influx of new Allied Assault gamers that all expect the online support that we have agreed to provide.   Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help remedy this situation.    Thanks.

   Mark Dochtermann replies ...

   On it.

Hes on the case, could be some updates perhaps in this new release or something that needs updating on the master server? Im just guessing at the moment, will keep you all updated with anymore info as and when it comes.

Who's really behind this EA or gamespy? Over at gamespy last night one of the mod's said everything is up and running which wasn't true minutes later the gamespy forums went down and are still down. Did they get hacked?

It's GameSpy. The ingame MoH server browser is "Powered by GameSpy". I noticed last night that no servers were showing again ... *sigh*

Some info guys ... a convo between EA and Gamespy ...

We've been reviewing some problems after a planned maintenance happened earlier in the week that we understood to be largely resolved yesterday, but it does still look like there are some remaining issues. MOHAA is actually one of the titles we're explicitly checking out to help us debug the problem.

As we suspected, resolving the problem for the Battlefield titles did the same for MoHAA. As I type, there are 108 people playing on 42 servers and rising.

We will be doing a follow up here with folks like yourself who emailed in about this on Monday with more details. For now, server admins should restart their servers, and some isolated ones who don't pick up our latest DNS changes may have problems for another short while (hours or days).

   Thats from

   Joost Schuur,

   Product Manager,

   IGN Entertainment

   gamespy.com.

At the time of replying i tested AA/SH/BT ... SH is still off - have informed them again, AA + BT seem to be fine, if you notice any other problems do let us know.

Update ... SH server list now working :)
