I just purchased the Orange Box and I received a Team Fortress guest pass to give out. I have no idea how to choose who to give it to, so give me a good reason

dunno herr, i'm still trying to figure out how that would work if you don't have the game . and if you did have the game, why would you need a guest pass ?

It usually means you get to try the game for free for a set ammount of time. Did Valve ever have a free weekend with the Scout update? In the past when they had a major update to TF2 they would have a free weekend so people who don't own the game can download it through Steam and try it out.

Well no, I believe if he gives you the pass it would allow you to dl the game from Steam and try it out. Another thing about Steam which is nice is if you have duplicates of games you can "gift" them to other people. I have two copies of Half-life 2 so I could "gift" one to somebody who has a Steam account. Since I never have actually done it I'm not sure how it all works, but a nice idea just the same.

I got a guest pass for TF2 with my recent Orange Box purchase as well.
It works like this,
I log onto my Steam account and give the pass to someone who has a Steam account and yes, you need an account. They just download it through Steam.
They get 3 days of the Full Version of the game.
Once the 3 days are up it locks itself out and you can't play it anymore.
If you decide to purchase it you already have it downloaded, it just unlocks itself.
Darn PKM, I thought you had already bought it or I would have given you mine. The guy I gave it to bought the game btw.

hey i'm going to have to wait until tuesday for this, seems my idiot sons and one of their friends combined their brain power and put a rock through my back windshield while trying to knock a football out of a tree, directly over my town and country .
if someone however, wants that guest pass or if it expires before tuesday, go on and pass me over . gonna be a busy weekend burying 3 bodies .

i was cool . the kid who did it looked scared enough as it was (kid was in tears) his pop's from brooklyn so i figured he was in for it as it was already . plus yelling at the runt wasn't going to fix the window anyways .
