Title: Moh Source
Post by: Cobra {sfx} on August 20, 2014, 01:34:08 PM
As you probably all know ive been chasing the source on the communities behalf again, Andrew Wilson asked Jake to reply to myself on this subject ...

   Hi Rob,

Andrew Wilson asked me to get back to you.  We love your enthusiasm for EA games.  It's what makes our work so fun and rewarding.  MOH has been an important part of the EA world for many years.  We admire the passion that the whole community has shown for the game over the years and are thrilled that the community wants to keep playing it.  Unfortunately, we cannot provide you the source code to the game, as we don't give out source code to any game we've previously published.  I'm sorry we aren't in a position to offer you the code.  But as a sign of our appreciation of your reaching out to us, I'd like to offer you a free game of your choice.  Just name the title and platform, and I'll see that you get it.

   Best,

   Jake

Ive replied stating a few facts about them releasing source files previously and asked Jake to look into it more, will keep you all updated.

Hopefully he looks into it more. I don't think a free game is a fair trade-off.

Ive asked for anything Bob.

Also reminded them they used to give out some assets and that they were recently looking to hand over Moh and a few other titles to communities....

" We know some of these games are still fan favorites, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Command & Conquer games. We are still investigating community-supported options to preserve online functionality for these titles, such as multiplayer."

Weve got a contact now anyway, hopefully theyll reconsider their options, yeh the free game is a cheap fob-off attempt i think.

It seems that they mostly focus on the Battlefield series.

Honestly, I don't care about the free game. I find having the source code is better, because we can make MoH:AA a new game.
