I have see on the chatboux everyone interested on the conversion so i have created this thread who whant me to help to do with this conversion.
I give you the first map to help me is m1l3a.
This map dont have nothing to pick up or blow up as objective so i was thinking to put a objective like Pac mod of escort the tank but different way:
- The tank has to be controled by a player to move
- The player cant move the tank to another place only can shoot on the tank and press forward to move the tank.
- The tank have to walk on the same road as the single player.
- The tank have to walk slowly that way makes more hard to reach the objective
- One player of the axis need to have a bazooka to blow up the tank
- One player of the allies can repair the tank
If you have more suggestions post, later we can discuss about that.
If you give a player control of the tank there is nothing to stop him driving it anywhere which means you would have to use a lot of vehicle clips to keep him where you want him, ive never tried attaching a player and just giving him use of the cannon before, that could be interesting, you would need to disable his keys (except use) while onboard and just give mouse control, the bottom half of the tank could then be automated at slow speed to go where you want it to go.
A downside of the SP maps is the bottlenecks the maps create when in MP, some maps are going to be a real challenge for you, you may need to use spawn Enabling/Disabling/Respawning to use the useable parts of the map etc etc. Feel free to look at the ones i converted and use anything out of them if theyre of any use.

Can't you make the tank follow a spline path when someone is in it and wait when there isn't and then only allow them to use the cannon?
SP to Obj sounds very nice. Qorry no suggestions, only questions atm: why should the tank not be able to move around and what would the obj consist of?
Because the map when you play on the single player you have to kill the bots through the way on the road with the car and the car dont go to another place.
I think it would be easier if you try to stick with the original objectives of SP, it would look like a coop mod but with the 2 teams trying to complete the original objectives, example m1l1; Allies' objectives, infiltrate the algerian village; Axis' objectives; stop the Allies. Once the Allies team reaches the checkpoint the spawns for the teams change. m1l2 Allies objective could be to free the OSS bot (that bot would need to have a large ammount of health to make the level more challenging) which the Axis team would have to kill. 2nd allied objective in that map could be the rescue of the prisioner bot and the last objetive would be to blow up the flak 88s. For the jeep levels, it would probably be better if it was a bot driving the jeep through the path in sp with the allied team protecting it until it reaches its destination, axis team would have to destroy the jeep with panzerschrecks previously selected in the primary weapon window. An extra for that level could be the option of an allied player manning the Cal. 30 by pressing 'use' near the jeep. As for the missions with the king tiger, it would be like Pac's escort mod, but the king tiger bot tank would fire at buildings and axis players and bot tanks, axis team would have to once again to select the bazookas in the primary weapon window. another extra that can be added could be usable flak88s or flak88 bots aiming at the allied players and the captured king tiger.
Overall, such mod would be great as it would require team work to complete the level.
I think you would be better using the ones i made as a base for it because i used spawn enabling/disabling to get past the bottlenecks so it is more MP friendly, you could place the objectives inbetween their spawn areas, mine also used up most of the useable parts of the maps.
... Of course that will be impossible in some maps but theyre there if it helps :)
we can add a second different gametype, one gametype work in one way the work in another way of couse i will need alot of help of everyone to finish the mod or will a year to finish lol.
But im thinking aswell to do this project to SH and BT.
What alternative gametypes are you thinking of?
That sounds like you need a randomiser to select the gametype at the start of the map rather than 2 different maps.
Im speaking about the way the objectives can be played like Soares have suggested.
You dont need to put a randomiser for that you can put cvars like this:
set sp_gametype "1"
set sp_gametype "2"
Yeh you can use anything, blow up a vehicle and enable/disable some spawns etc
