Just an update on the chase for the Moh Source guys, have been in contact with Mark Dochtermann (who used to be with EA) and queried about the FAKK2 Source, he has put me in touch with Ron who owns Ritual Entertainment, have emailled him regarding the FAKK2 Source, will update this thread when he replies :)
Let us know what happens. :D
FAAK2?
Am I getting confused with FAKK2?
Haha corrected ;)
LMAO - I still remember the original Heavy Metal FAKK2.
There was an "update" to make Julie's clothes more "transparent". When I looked years later it was just a "skin hack" with les clothing over the model.
Once I was introduced to modding I wondered if there was a way to make the levels playable by multiple players, just the same as the "Alice" maps were able to be modded for multiplayer. They were all EA gamers and shared a common "engine" but my skills were never clever enough to work out if the modding would work.
It probably would work, dont think ive ever looked at it before
Extra update, have had an email back from Ron who owns the company, hes given me his mobile number to call him and discuss what we need, have posted over on XNull so i can get a detailled list of what we need to fix MoH :)
Update 2, just been texting with Ron, will initiate contact after Jan 2nd :)
You know that's weird you mentioned FAKK2
I was just showing Gold this link the other day lol
I was watching gameplay video of 007 - Agent Under Fire and the first thing
I saw that caught my eye was a grappling hook lol

Lets hope Ron can give us the Source, with it being the same engine that would work nicely.
Yeh a grappling hook could be fun, reading about the engine it doesnt look like EA done anything, Rituals Ubertools bought them the new features
I had an "evaluation" copy of the game somewhere. 8)
If I find it I'll see if I can package it for peeps to look at.
First thing in the game lol

That doesnt look bad either, wonder what it looks like in MP
If anyone wants to install "Heavy Metal FAKK2" and have a look at the files, I have a RAR file of the disk hosted here (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=CF7B6987DB3FD062!17574&authkey=!AEAgIyeLDQASDkM&ithint=file%2crar)

Awesome..
It actually happened!!!!
Good work Rob....
Cheers Carl, were going down the NDA route because it means we can access it quicker, they will open source it in the long term :)
Very nice work! Great to see this happening.
Been a long haul thats for sure lol
Nice address book you've got! I never expected such a success! So Cobs you will get the code but wont be authorized to share and test in this forum?
Hehe nice address book eh :) We will get the source LeB and we can basically do what we want with it, of course we do not want to openly pass this around and will be signing an NDA to make sure this does not happen, i have forwarded 3 names for the NDA, unless im asked otherwise by Elgan or Leyok it will just be 3 names for now.
Ive asked Elgan and Leyok to lead this project from MRU and to liaise with the Reborn guys and get them involved also, this needs to be a community-wide project and there is a lot to do, Reborn and OpenMoh could be finished pretty quickly once the guys are working from the Source.
So sharing with the right people is not a problem mate, testing we will involve any or all of you dont worry, any new things we find out will be passed on, likewise - if any good ideas are forwarded they can also be included in the project, we have a unique opportunity to enhance Moh into something even nicer so it needs some good planning and commitment, control and discipline is needed or we will have people spiralling off into their own projects and ideas and Moh will be all forgotten about.
As you can see there really is a lot to consider and think about, Elgan and Leyok have made a thread in the Dev section to start handling this the correct way and prioritise things, anything we learn going through this will be passed on to the community, its still early days but the future looks very promising indeed :)
Things we can say and pass on will of course be posted here, for instance - we now have the unique opportunity to create the next levels of Moh, Campaigns, Missions, Single Player Maps etc etc, Mohdm8+ so you can see there is going to be some massive projects going on and i would really like to involve the community on this, this is our game, lets all help plan its future, we will be needing ideas, Mappers, Scripters, Skinners, Modellers etc etc.
Its early days yet but the above should give you some insight into the scale and scope of this project.
Cobs
Ok guys, Rons just back from the States and been back in touch via text, hes getting the NDAs together by the end of the week so i need your mailling addresses for the NDAs :) 8)
