Hi guys does anyone have linux? if so do you think that it is better than windows xp? because i am geting annoyed at xp because it won do what i want it to do so i am looking at linux because ive heard you can change and add anythink you like to the software, i know you can do it on windows but my dad works for them and is all up tight about me programming it differnetly. any views would be appricated.

linux is great but.........
you get no help. you are on your own to search forums.
even the simplest tasks can take a long time to set up - but once they are they are setup for a long time (minimal system crashes).
some of the most recent linux versions are fairly good and have a windows feel to them, even come with help files.
if you dont have a router get one usb and such like modems are very difficult to find drivers for.
graphics - also can be hard to setup your graphics card for gaming purposes.
on the other hand it's all free.
I used mandrake linux 10 the last time and it seemed ok

I heard redcap is the best but everyones to there own.
