Hello lads,

   

   As you probably have already seen in the news, the last version of 1936 Spain in Flames, total conversion for MohBT, is now available, with many more features.

   

   

   The main features on this version are:

   

   

         -New level: Barcelona, for a total of 5 official maps

         -3 new weapons

         -4 new characters

         -Cameras added to conquest game type

         -Added "Kill the General" game mode

         -Engine rebuilt, more robust and a lot faster

         -HUD Enhancements

   

   

   

   But of course, it includes also those already present in ver. 0.74, which was never released in english:

   

   -A new level: Castuera

   -Tanks on multiplayer mode (Castuera)

   -Field Artillery available (Castuera)

   -Medics (switchable)

   -Bleeding (when you are lower than 30hp you have to bandage yourself to stop bleeding)

   -Perfect speed control, even when unarmed

   -New sounds and voices by Durruti

   -New Conquest -Objective- game mode (by Herr Kruger and Durruti)

   -Staying corpses on death (with proper placement and animations; only available on non-respawn games to avoid server lag)

   

   

   So you havent felt the sensation of gameplay and ambience of 1936, you are all invited to visit us in the official server, or another clans server, were you are all welcome.

   Remember that now ,there is an english patch, so you should have not problems of lanaguage or similiar.

   I've been to Barcelona and I find it very funny because I can actually recognize the place! :D

   This screenshot shows the Columbus statue in the port, the mountain on the left is Mont Juic (hope I spelled it correctly; where the olympic games took place) and if you went between the buildings to the right behind the statue you would get to the Rambla. :D

   And i do hope it's not the last time we hear from you;).

   

   I didnt get a chance to play it properly yet due to being busy, however i had a little spin on some general maps on a BT server when the spanish version was out. It has a great feel to it. I was v.taken by the maps. I was half busy so i was just exploring and looking at all the great things and of course riding that cart:D.hehe

   

   Then i played a round and was kivked:

   

   o well. When i have some free time i will do a proper evaluation. First impressions are v.good though.

ok guys, due to the fact that 1936 is in the news section again, although the new update was release some time now, i thought it was important to reveal some more info about this total conversion, in general.

   

   1936 is a total conversion for Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough. In 1936 you can play the role of an infantry soldier either side of the Spanish Civil War.

   You will join the combats on the Barcelona streets on the first day of the insurrection. Meet the famous Renault FT-17 on the defense of Madrid, face the enemy fire on the Ebro beaches and being a first line observer on the battle for Teruel. Along history, only a few ways have been as hard to follow.

   Thanks to the Medal of Honor engine, 1936 puts you in action in an unparalleled realistic environment. You will cross the unexplored battlefields and meet a new set of enemys and weapons, as well as a new game type with new soldier classes.

   

   

   ARTILLERY AND DRIVABLE VEHICLES

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   To control artillery and usable vehicles press the Use (Action) key (E). Once you’re in charge, aim and shoot as if you were standing. Once you’re done, press the Use (Action) (E) key again to leave the turret.

   New features not present on MOH

   1936 is based on the Medal of Honor engine, however it adds some new features not available on the original game which are listed here:

   

   Stamina

   Unlike the original MOH, characters on 1936 get tired more or less according to the actions they’re playing, which affects his movement speed. The resulting stamina is a function of the current weapon weight, the last actions of the character and the damage sustained on the current round.

   Also, the current stamina affects the player accuracy, as the more tired he is, the more erratic the crosshair becomes.

   Since version 0.51, server admins can manage stamina by using the g_stressfactor cvar, which adopts values 0-10 (being 0 no stamina management at all) and defaults to 5

   

   Bayonets

   Some of the rifles available on the game are equipped with bayonets, as an alternative enhancement for close combat. This addition means the become less accurate on long range shooting, however they are deadly on short ranges.

   Bayonet is used as any other secondary attack, this is, by pressing the secondary mouse button by default.

   

   Knives

   1936 also features the spanish knife as combat equipment. Its use is also similar to any other weapon.

   

   Ironsights

   

   

   Since version 0.62, the crosshair in Mohaa has been removed in 1936; instead, for aiming purposes you must use the weapon’s ironsights. To do so, press the “Walking” Key, even when standing still. If you fire the weapon without aiming first the accuracy is reduced to the point it’s almost impossible to hit the target.

   

   

   

   

   On 1936, you can’t select a certain weapon. Instead, every player skin gets a set of weapons according to the historical context (i.e.: assault units have a higher chance of receiving automatic weapons, and foreign units usually get equipment from their respective countries).

   

   As of now, there’s no limitation on the classes a player can select. However, it’s our intention to include it on the final version, so that for a given scenario, only the units which historically where involved on it can be selected. Also, probably it will feature some kind of setup so that the server admin can limit the amount of automatic weapons simultaneously available.

   Medics

   1936 allows server admins to remove healthpacks in-game, using instead the medic system. There’s a medic character per team. When this feature is enabled, players acting as medics can heal their team mates by holstering his weapon and pressing USE when standing near one of them.

   

   Serious Wounds

   If at some time during the game the player health drops below 30 points, he’s considered to be seriously wounded. A wounded player can’t recover from fatigue, his speed and jumping skills are very decreased and a red fog partially covers his screen. If the player raises his health level by using healthpacks or medical assistence, these handicaps dissappear. Externally, you can see when a player is seriously wounded cause he moves with a limping animation.

   

   Weapons Behaviour

   Every weapon present on 1936, including those shared with Medal of Honor, has been modified to reflect his historical specifications as much as possible. The list of modifications over the standar MOH weapons is the following:

   

   â€¢ Damage inflicted is calculated according to the caliber, bullet weight and grain.

   

   â€¢ Also, clip size and ratio of fire has been adjusted to the weapons specifications as much as possible (as per ratio of fire, the intervals are limited in MOH, so it’s not always possible to reflect the real one)

   

   â€¢ Weapons using clips to contain ammunition (most of them) now lost the contents of the current clip when reloading (except the italian Breda 30, because of its particular design).

   

   â€¢ Range and spread of each weapon has been also modified according to history.

   

   â€¢ Different weapons of the same type do not share the same ammo, unlees they did historically. Also, republican units are generally shorter on ammo than the nationalist ones, and will also find harder to refill his ammo belt because of the wider array of ammunitions used.

   

   â€¢ Finnally, weapons left on the battlefield do not fade away after a few seconds, but stay on place until the round ends or until picked up by another player (except for respawn games, just to avoid lagging the game).

   

   New Weapons

   Keep on reading to find out which new weapons from different countries will be added to your arsenal. As usual, you should take some precautions before entering combat situations using weapons you’re not familiar with.

   

   Hand grenade types.

   

   Laffite Grenade

   

   

   The Laffite handgrenade was the standard issue on the spanish army of the time. It was used by both sides, but more often by the nationalists. To use it, it was required to remove the security ring and the action was started upon unwrapping the tape which covered it..

   

   Castillo Handgrenade

   

   Developed by the Republic, it was named after a lieutnant from the Guardia de Asalto killed a few days prior to the military uprising. It was a “flint” grenade, meaning it was nothing more than a can filled with explosive and grapeshot with a flint coming out of it.

   

   Molotov Coctail

   

   His first military use has been reported on the Spanish Civil War, even if it was already used during the Russian Revolution days. It showed itself as a powerful anti-tank weapon, when thrown against the tanks radiators.

   

   Ferrobelum Grenade

   A member of the “stick” grenades common on the IWW. The concept was very similar to the famous german Steilhandgrenate no 24, but its body was segmented to increase its fragmentation capabilities, and thus, the damage inflicted. On the SCW there were various grenades commonly know as Ferrobelum.

   

   Breda Handgrenade

   Developed by the Italians, it arrived to the SCW as part of the Italian help to the nationalist side.

   

   Smoke Can

   It was used by the assault units of the Cuerpo de Seguridad, known as the Guardia de Asalto. It can be used to hide your own movements or to create confussion on the enemy.

   

   Pistol Types

   

   Pistol Astra 400

   

   It was the ordinance pistol of the Spanish army in 1936. It used the legendary 9mm “Largo” ammunition, and its clip holded up to eight bullets. Later on, it was redesigned to fit the 9 mm Parabellum, being very appreciated by the German troops on the Eastern front of WWII.

   

   Pistol Star 1919 “Sindicalista”

   

   That was the surname of the Star 1919 â€" 7.63 mm, as it was very common among anarchist terrorists because of its reduced size, which make it hard to be detected by police units.

   

   Pistol Mauser C-96

   A truly legendary weapon, the Mauser C-96 “broomhandle” was the first really functional semi-automatic pistol. Later models included full auto capabilities, with firing ratios reaching 1000 rpm, however in order to use it effectively it was required the addition of a wooden stock suplement. To access the full auto mode use the secondary fire button.

   

   Pistol Astra 903

   

   A spanish clone of the C-96, it was produced after WWI by Astra trying to cover the market void left by the Versailles restrictions on post-war Germany. The 903 model was used by the Guardia de Asalto and featured as well full auto mode. To use the full auto mode use the secondary fire button.

   

   Pistol Star Modelo 1922

   

   It was indeed another Spanish version of a famous foreign weapon, the Colt 1911. Using as well the 9mm Largo, after some tests it became the ordinance weapon of the Guardia Civil.

   

   Rifle Types

   

   Lee-Enfield Pattern 14

   Conceived as an evolution of the SMLE to which a Mauser action was added. It has been often qualified as the most accurate Enfield ever. Despite that, technical difficulties by the time it entered service (very first stages of WWI) prevented it from seeing much action.

   

   Arisaka 38

   

   Japanese rifle commonly attributed to Col. Nariakira Arisaka, it entered service on 1906, year which correspons to 38 on the Meiji eve. It used the japanese cartridge, 6.5x50, which meant lots of problems for the Popular Army supply officers.

   

   Mauser Oviedo

   

   A Half way between the legendary Mauser 1893 and the Mauser carbine, it was developed as a weapon for second line units (Artillery, Engineers Corps...) though it was also featured on the standard Guardia Civil equipment..

   

   Mauser Español 1893

   Ordinance rifle on the Spanish since 1893, the Spanish Mauser left the battlefields to enter the legend. It was chambered on the 7mm Mauser cartridge, and it’s considered to be the first modern rifle using a Mauser action. Its effectiveness inspired the development of the american Springfield 1903 rifle right after the Hispan-American war.

   

   Czech Mauser VZ-24

   An impressive rifle, it was bought by the Republic on the foreign market to equip its best units. In the mod, it appears as part of the Cuerpo de Carabineros weaponry, and features bayonet for hand to hand combat.

   

   SMG Types

   Erma EMP

   

   German SMG created on the late 20’s, the Erma was easily recognized by its wooden grip below the feeding mechanism. After the war, it entered service on the Spanish Army under the denomination “Coruña”, though often it was known as “Naranjero”. Its theorical firing rate was 500 rpm.

   

   Bergmann MP34

   Exportation model manufactured by Germany (though officialy it never made it into the Werhmacht), the MP34 was initially developed on Denmark on 1932. Its theorical firing rate is 650 rpm.

   

   Labora-Fontbernat

   

   Autoctonous SMG manufactured by the Industrias de Guerra de Cataluña under the denomination “Olot”, its quality and technology was exceptional for the time and circumstances which sorrounded it., allowing it reach a theorical firing rate of 750 rpm.

   

   Star Si-35

   The first generation of genuine spanish SMG’s, the 35 series fired at a maximun rate of 700 rpm. They were offered to the powers involved on WWII, but its extreme mechanical complexity prevented it from seeing any action.

   

   Automatic Rifle Types.

   

   Hotchkiss FAO

   

   Manufactured under Hotchkiss license by the Fabrica de Armas de Oviedo (FAO). Initially conceived to increase the fire power of Cavalry units, it’s the paradigm of WWI automatic rifles, very heavy and not too functional on the battlefield.

   

   Degtyarev DP-28

   It’s easily recognized by its big, circular clip, mounted right over the gun. It was part of the Soviet help to the Republican forces. It’s a very tough and reliable weapon, which served on the Red Army well into the 50’s.

   

   

   

   Maxim-Tokarev 1917

   

   First Soviet attempt to create a functional automatic rifle, the Maxim-Tokarev used the Maxim 1910 core to which a wooden grip and an air-cooled gun was added. It could be fed either by belt or clip.

   

   Static Weapons

   Static Machine Gun Hotchkiss Mod. 1914

   The Hotchkiss 1914 static machine gun was the ordinance heavy mg onthe Spanish Army of the time. It proved to be a very reliable weapon during the Morocco campaigns, and was well considered by either side.

   

   Static Machine Gun Maxim 1922

   Yet another Soviet contribution, often displayed on pics and reports of the time. The Maxim was already a veteran on the Russian Civil War by the time it entered the Spanish scenario. Because it was very heavy, two men were required for transportation tasks (one carrying the wheeled mount whereas the other took care of the gun itself).

THIS IS WHY I WANTED TO SEE THIS REPOSTED.

   

   mru - members if u aint got Moh: BT buy it - then seek out this total conversion

   

   I dont play too much cos of time (and I am hopeless) but its worth finding a server running it cos its jaw dropping

Alternatively hex edit it for SH or AA ;)

   

   Note - doing this will require tweaks etc
