I downloaded the server_flyable.pk3 but when I try to walk into the plane I get this message saying "you do not have training for this plane". What does this mean and what am I doing wrong?

It means you are at the wrong trigger - your trigger is on your side of the map, you are trying to get into the enemies planes trigger

if you look in the flyable_planes.txt file in the settings folder of Admin Pro there is an option called "use-teams"
if this is set to "1" you can only use planes with your team designation. Set it to "0" and u can fly any plane. Useful if u run a FFA game like me.

Lol i dont know how you can play FFA Steve, its soooo un-natural to shoot someone from your "original" side - i just cant do it 
If its a TDM server then you might want to consider leaving the triggers as is to stop players from an enemy team stealing your Aircraft

lmao..
i dont mind what i play. i enjoy a nic TDM., OBJ with not too many players and nade spam. a FFA matches can be real fun if not to many players. ELgbot works best on FFA. More likely to get a monster kill.
ANyway i got survivor working on all game types:D the planes too:P
