most of your ''facts'' jas are based on the actions of the goverment not the people. if we would like to go tit for tat on countries there are plenty of dark moments in any country's past, including aussieland. your bad move was mentioning building the country on slaves. unless you're an eskimo, no citizen of any country is free from that shame, including your homeland. if you'd like to start a patriotic chest thumping thread, i'll meet you there. this thread was an expression from one citizen of a country to another. you are not a member of this country therefore have no background of which to form a validated opinion. if you were an american citizen OR the guy who had his picture taken with the burrito sign, you'd have your 15 minutes.

Wow, great thread, split my side a few times.

   

   My 2 opinions real quick. As to ilegal aliens, I pay taxes so the citizens of my country can use the programs that they need to better their lives. When someone comes into the country ileagally, most times they don't pay taxes. As of the moment, the big argument is that they should still be able to use these same programs. THEY SHOULDN'T!

   

   On the topic of th U.S. , Jas had quite a few good points. We are very hipocritical at times. The one sentance I would like to point out though, "You have the richest most powerfull country in the world..." Obviously what we are doing is working then, why stop? Granted we should change a few thing, but not at the expence of diminishing the quality of life we have now.(Speaking of those who have at least a decent life!) And that high poverty rate you spoke of, 15% of our homeless population are ileagal immigrants.

   

   One last thing... "A story about an Aardvark on a boat..." LMFAO, I'm stealing that one!!!
