Anyone interested in building a new game from scratch?

Hello there,

Some of you might have noticed that Quake 3's source has been released to the public some time ago. I think I don't need to explain the possibilities it gives. ;) Well, I've been thinking of making a new game based on it, and I actually already started messing about with the code.

What I'd like to do is a cross between the Breaking 50 mod for Call of Duty (the media and theme - paintball) and True Combat: Elite for Enemy Territory (realism and gameplay). I'm sure a game like this would kick ass. I'm a dedicated paintball fan. ;)

What I've already done is a working version of the paintball projectile and ironsights (both need some tweaking). I've also started working on sprinting and proning, but so far I only manage to crash the game. :P I could handle the gameplay programming and some media creation (player model skins, UI assets, music), I would need some help, though - experienced C programmers who can give the aging Q3 engine a facelift are especially welcome. ;)

Would anyone at all be interested in helping out with it? I think a project like this is worth a shot - we have all the tools, the technology is well known, all that's needed is the people to work on it.
