if you need a tut to make yellow snow, you may want to quit modding and concentrate on nature and involuntary actions instead .

Ah what the hell I might as well take a stab at this...

   

   Capture the Christmas Tree is a mod and map I am currently working on... Find the switch, open the gates, nab the tree and run off with it somewhere, I haven't decided yet.

   

   Two days of hard work and I get http://thingshappen.awardspace.co.uk/forums.php?m=posts&q=6&n=last#bottom">this.

   

   I would put seperate links to the images instead of a link to a forum page on my site but my host doesn't like hotlinking...

   

   I'm working on some cvars so you can turn certain things off and on and a pick up and drop script for a Christmas Tree but many months without scripting makes me forget everything to do with it :p...

hehe ty very much, im thinking you win by holding the tree the longest... just trying to sort out the Exceeded MAX POLYS error I get in console when I join a team :con, its absolutely fine in spec. any ideas?

i can make it snow on any map .

   

   but i did ask how to stop it coming though the buildings , ie roofs , walls and such .

   if i just add a snow script , it falls in the insides of the building and look crap .

   

   if im going to build a map with snow ! from scratch !!!! do i need to do anything to stop the snow entering the buildings ? that's all i need to know for now ;) .

   

   rain also enters the buildings if added after its been built , or the map was not built for rain or snow .

   thats why i am asking first ;) , it may seem daft to some ;) but i find it better to ask first ;) and not after its to late .

   you mean scripting snow or mapping it? If you are going to map it, you wont have that problem, the rain brushes should be outside the buildings.

Just another update on my progress... I have the tree sorted, it has a few errors with the colours and spams the console to hell (any ideas?) but it works, including a timer which counts how long each team has held it (it even changes colours for each team :P), I've added a few lights to the map to add some more atmosphere and I am trying to figure out why the snow spams the console aswell...

   Almost ready to test a beta on multiplayer to check the script works ok. If this is successful I will sort some bits and pieces out and release it.

   

   EDIT: Doesnt really work in multiplayer, im using a crap script though I have
