Anyone got any ideas for a good specification for a PC that I could buy/build for around £800 (including monitor)?

Make sure its a P4 3.x upwards, 2 gig of ram and a good Nvidia card (512 or more) for starters, i use a 19" LG LCD - runs everything i throw at it

get the best mo-bo you can !!!!!! dont get a cheap mo-bo and expect the high standard hardware to work as good as it should .

   a cheap mo-bo will slow things down !!!! .

   

   what operating system you going to be running ? xp will not recognise ram over 3gigs !.

   you would need vista for that amount of ram .
im back for a while but not to stay so if you need anything fixed just ask away.

Finally decided on

   

   Intel Q6600 processor

   2GB DDR2 PC6400

   NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB

   

   with a 22" LG monitor

   

   Still going to run XP as I hate vista

   

   managed to get everything for around £15 - £20 over the budget I had too :D
