ANACONDA,,the new MOH

Patrick Gilmore and Tom Hess of Electronic Arts want your input on the next Medal of Honor game:

   

   Now I'm guessing you're asking yourself where and when did they post this request? Well they didn't actually come in the forums or post on the official EA MOH site, themselves. They more or less have been giving detailed information to Jessica101, over in the PS3 section of these forums (EA forums).

   

   Now granted, up until today, she has been releasing information that was questionable and until today only quoted unknown sources.

   

   EA update. The programmers have seen the players requests, and will be taking them into consideration.

   

   With regard to the next MOH, So far I have gleaned:

   

   1) There will be random spawning in the new game (preventing spawn killing).

   2) The matching of players will be improved.

   3) Friends will be able to join ranked games (same as unranked at the moment).

   The EA's reasons for the next one being a modern war, not WWII are:

   

   1) Product sales have declined due to the 'been there done that' aspect.

   2) The new game needs a never before done feature.

   3) The programmers have been working on WWII games for 8 years now, and want a change.

   

   The programmers have read our 'players wish list', and (with the exception of naked soldiers - too off- putting, all those wiggling chipolatas) - our requests will be included in the new game. The game designer is working on it himself as well. Also:

   

   1) There will be airstrikes

   2) It will be called Anaconda

   3) It will be based on the 2002 actual operation anaconda

   4) There will be NO airborne

   5) Loading will be better/faster

   6) Upgrades will be improved

   7) Scope default will be 'off' (no more hassle with the stg)

   8) Points will be shown on screen when gained (i.e. at the time of the kill in game)

   9) Details of how many points needed to obtain the next rank will also be shown on screen every time a players points change in a game

   10) There will be a lobby to meet friends in and ability to move straight into a game with them

   11) It will be possible to shoot through obstacles, fences etc.

   12) There will be no need to 'put down' your gun to throw a grenade, guns will remain in hand, grenades on a separate button

   13) The shock - it will be released in 2010 !

   There will be at least 16 players, maybe 32.

   

   The maps will be larger to handle the extra people.

   

   It will be rated T or M, because of enhanced blood and death graphics. For those not in america - t=teen, m=mature (adults only).

   And then finally, she is able to release the names of her contacts, who have been giving her this inside information. Along with a welcome to please let EA know what you want, so they can include it into the next MOH title.

   

   OK, before the details I would just like to thank both the contacts who have been giving me information about the new moh. They wish to remain anonymous, but have been a great help, and I'm sure will continue to do their best to better the game.

   

   The EA have been reading the forum to get a feel for what players really want. They want to increase sales by having a good product, it makes perfect business sense after all!

   At least 16, maybe 32???? Do they want to make the same Airborne mistake? We got to mail Tom, make him wake up, shake him around a bit and hope he's got one braincell left. 16 what are they thinking??

   Other than that I'm curious what they will make of this concept.

   Sorry, but their sales have declined because the products have sucked.

   MOH is a dead line for new games.  After the debacle with Airborne, they're toast.  Too late to resurrect the line now.

   Case in point, they were told prior to Airborne what the MOH community wanted ... they did not listen and released a flawed and inferior product.

They are just out to copy COD4 now.  They have no clue what they are doing.  Sad and infuriating to see.  They have no clue what made MOHAA and SH good games.  In contrast, it sounds very much like COD5 is going to be close to what we have wanted for new MOH games to be.
