Can't ear some sounds

Sorry to start a topic with a simple question. I installed Airborne, 1.3 patched it and went straight into MP. Problem is I can't ear my own footsteps. But if I spec someone I can ear his footsteps. Thank you for any clue and advice !

With virtually little support after release (other than 3 patches) I think you are a little s.o.l. I'm afraid. Don't bother with the offical forum either. What are your system specs? OS?

Sorry friends, totally forgot to let you know I "solved" the problem. I initially set the sound quality to surround or 5.1 as I do for every game and got no footsteps. But as soon as I changed it to 2.1 ( or 2 speakers, I don't remember and too lazy to start the game to verify ) I got a marvelous surround sound with my footsteps. Funny isn't it

   I'm on XP pro SP2 with an old but efficient 5.1 Hercules speakers set, VIA sound chip in an ASUS P7P55D EVO mobo.

   [my off topic part is to say I really enjoy playing it from time to time, though I don't feel playing a MoH game at all]
