Best anti-virus/ anti-spyware

I know there is already a topic on killing spyware but i want to know the most effective virus and spyware removers you guys know!

   Just got new cpu have 2 gb firewall (courtsey of my moms work) and norton anti-virus which is crap. so to protect me new cpu i want some serious virus/spyware killing machines!!!

   Firewall:  zonealarm free

   

   adware:   Ad-aware free

   

   virus:     AVG free

   

   

   they are all free and are all very good.

   

   

   but you can never have too much protection so download as much as you want.

it is also up to the user. if a good nboy u can get away with a clean pc forever.

   

   donwload on a diff pc  do not link them up. or have a diff hdd. check the donwlaod then use it.

   but it's weather you can be arsed with it.

   

   if you use windows and surf the web alot you will get problems - simple as that.

   I can do a clean install of my system set up fully (internet email favourites games programs etc etc) in about 20 minutes using norton ghost.

   

   Ive set it up so its automatic as well i can go away for 20 minutes and bang my system reinstalled and back to normal.

can you dum that down abit i get the norton ghost thing but im constantly being pissed of by spyware i want a download that dont cost and will kill everythink (im a noob i no)

   If you use windows and surf the web allot you will get problems

   

   

   yes allot of this software will help to minimise the problems, but eventually you will need to reinstall  your system (reinstall windows and all your software)

   

   

   if you use norton ghost just after you have installed all the software - It takes a "picture" of your hard drive which can be put back on in a matter of minutes.

   

   If you were to do it manuallly it takes up to 4 - 6 hours.

   you have to pay for norton ghost.

   

   yes it will take pictures of the virus so.....

   

   

   do norton ghost when you first get your computer and when you have it setup the way you want it - that way you can be fairly sure that it will be virus free.

   

   it isnt the easiest program to use so I would recomend you read up or get a friend to do it for you.

   oh and i no we have gone over this but can you please give me a link to in your view the best spyware remover which is free because the 1s ive fount are finding spyware but you have to register to remove them.

   were as the free 1s dont even detect them

adaware is just as good. Then use ur mind and pc non mess up skills to not mess it up. just use  am8s pc to watch ur pron and ull be fine.

   make sure you keep the free ones updated all the time and they will be just as good as the pay ones.
