I dont know about you guys but spyware really pisses me off!!!

After a good days browsing on the net i find i have to run some spyware removal software because some sites "sneak" it onto your pc without your knowledge grrrr.

Anyway - thought i would help you guys get rid of it too <img class="aux smiley" src="./images/smilies/smile.gif" alt=":)" />

   Go download these 2 progs...

   Ad-Aware:

   <a href="http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/">http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/</a>

(Free and it gets rid of quite a few, you can click "check for updates" too <img class="aux smiley" src="./images/smilies/smile.gif" alt=":)" />

   Spy Sweeper:

   <a href="http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/index.php">http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/index.php</a>

(A months trial and is a really good prog)

Yes i use 2 to remove them as youll find not every prog finds some so use a few progs just to be safe <img class="aux smiley" src="./images/smilies/smile.gif" alt=":)" />

The threat is real people and if you havent ran any of this kind of software before i think you will be shocked what it finds and can remove for you!

I dont like being spied on or having my web browser hi-jacked and im sure you guys dont either

   Go kill em guys <img class="aux smiley" src="./images/smilies/wink.gif" alt=";)" />

There are other things that you can use too. Lol Cobra, I use like 5 but nothing can get rid of the CWS trojan. :( It's too advanced for anything... Oh well. Stupid spyware.

Elgan {sfx}

the CWS trojan.

   ??

   where is it installed?

i had looads but now everytime i scan i have 0 and lots of ticks.

i spent a day devoted io getting rid of it and its all gone:D

i also gave up ie. im not usto mozilla and find it better.

   mozilla is also safer:P! and %99 imune:P

SolidScope

I scrapped IE too, I use Opera. If you read the page I posted it explains each variable the CWS trojan can have. It's become so complex that programs like Ad aware and Spybot can't get rid of it. I spent many days devoted to killing it and never seceded. Not even now after i got the thing that claims it can. I think it's because I use AIM. Stupid window for viruses.

Elgan, how did you get rid of it? I've been trying to for months to no avail. And my friend just had to reformat their comp to get rid of it. Maybe you have a lower version of it I guess...

Elgan {sfx}

i used about 57567567 programs that scanned and optimsed. i also whent through all the folders deleted anyhting i ddint recognise. and then whent through my whole registry and fixed it myself.

scans show 0 and i have 0 vissible effects

Go Elgan. Master of the death-to-spyware.

I believe just today I beat it, this is how:

Downloaded CWShredder and killed everything it could find.

Ran updates for ad aware, got the reference files I needed, and scanned for any spyware, deleting everything it found.

Ran spybot and purged everything it found.

Ran Hijack This. This is where it comes in to play. The CWS trojan gets into ur AIM program and makes ads pop up on you. What you need to do is get rid of what Hijack This finds as an "Extra Button" for AIM.

Edit: Nevermind. I still have it.

killanumber1

I use avast antivirus. That works very well. www.avast.com
killanumber1{K1} UK RULES Sorry {fosfx} i didnt mean to blow my own team up

viper1

after downloading and installing kaaza on a clean pc i run adaware se pro and i couldnt believe the s--t that had infested my computer, it detected 138 new "CRITICAL OBJECTS" 1 of which was called cme11, and took ages to get rid of, so aswell as runnin your anti spyware programmes run an antivirus at least once a week ^_^

sorridstroker
